One of the best things about making your own homemade Pico de Galo salsa recipe is that you can make it as spicy as you like by adjusting the amount of the ingredients.

If you like it hot add another jalapeno. If you don't care that much for a strong cilantro flavor decrease the amount of cilantro.

Since I have been sharing so many Mexican recipes, I decided it was high time I shared a salsa recipe to go along with some of those recipes.

How to make Pico de Gallo

  • 3 medium tomatoes seeded and diced
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, membrane, and seeds removed then diced finely
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • ½ a bunch cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • juice of 2 limes

Pico de Galo Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients into a bowl or mason jar and refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.

Ingredients  

  • 3 medium tomatoes (seeded and diced)
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 whole jalapeno peppers (membrane and seeds removed then diced finely)
  • 4 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • ½ bunch fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 whole limes (juiced)

Instructions 

Prep

  • Dice the fresh vegetables.

Make the Pico de Galo

  • Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix to combine.
  • Cover the bowl or put the salsa in a mason jar and refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.
  • Serve with chips or your favorite Mexican food.
  • Makes about 2 ½ cups of salsa.
