- Step 1: Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Drain the grease well and set aside.
- Step 2: In a bowl mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese, garlic and parsley.
- Step 3: In the bottom of a 7 or 8 quart slow cooker pour half of the pasta sauce. Pour half the box of the uncooked ziti noodles over the sauce and spread them evenly over the top.
- Step 4: Spread half of the browned ground beef over the pasta. Spoon half of the cream cheese mixture over the meat and spread it evenly. Do not stir.
- Step 5: Spread the remaining pasta over the top in an even layer. Spread the remaining ground beef over the pasta. Dollop the remaining cream cheese mixture over the sauce and gently spread over the sauce.
- Step 6: Pour the ½ cup of water into the empty sauce jar and swish around to get all the sauce. Pour it around the edges of the other ingredients. Place the lid on the crock pot and cook on low for 3 hours.
- Step 7: After 3 hours remove the lid and stir the ingredients together. Check the pasta to see if it is tender. If not recover and cook for 1 more hour then recheck.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (minced)
- 48 oz. jar pasta sauce
- ½ cup Water
- 16 oz. box uncooked Ziti noodles
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain well.
- In a medium bowl combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese, garlic and parsley.
- Layer half the sauce and half the ziti pasta in the bottom of a 7 or 8-quart slow cooker.
- Spread half the browned ground beef over the pasta. The spoon half of the cream cheese mixture over the beef without stirring.
- Repeat layering the ingredients in this order: add another layer of the remaining pasta, ground beef and cream cheese mixture.
- Pour the water around the edges of the ziti layers.
- Cover and slow cook on low for 3 hours.
- Remove the lid after 3 hours and stir to combine. Check to see if the pasta is tender. If not recover and cook for one more hour.
- When the pasta is tender sprinkle to top with the shredded mozzarella cheese. Recover to melt.
- Serve once the pasta is tender and the mozzarella cheese has melted.
