For this pudding pie recipe, I decided to combine the basic pudding pie ingredients into three fluffy layers.

Instead of just mixing the pudding and Cool Whip together and spreading it into the graham cracker crust I decided to make a layered pudding pie with pieces of fresh strawberries.

The three separate layers look really pretty when the pie is sliced.

Strawberry Recipes

Florida strawberries are in season this time of the year. What better way to enjoy those sweet plump red jewels than to make a Strawberry Pudding Pie?

Have you ever eaten a pudding pie? Were Jell-O pudding pies a part of your family celebrations?

Ingredients

The list of ingredients used to make this No bake pudding pie is short. One of the best parts of easy no bake pie recipes is that you only need a few ingredients to make.

  • Pie crust: No bake pies are made with a graham cracker pie crust. This recipe calls for a 9 inch deep dish style pie crust.
  • Dairy: The instant pudding is beaten with whole milk. You can substitute your dairy of choice.
  • Instant Pudding: I have used strawberry flavored instant pudding. If you can't find this flavor you can substitute vanilla or even cheesecake flavored instant pudding instead.
  • Fresh berries: Florida strawberries are in season right now.
  • Cool Whip: You will need one 8 oz. container of whipped topping.
  • Garnish: Whole or sliced strawberries to garnish each serving of pie.

Let's Make Pie!

Strawberry pudding pie is very easy to make. You will beat the instant pudding and milk together and combine the cool whip and strawberries with the filling ingredients.

Beat the instant pudding mix with the cold milk in a large bowl with a handheld mixer.

Remove 1 ¼ cup of the pudding mix and place it in a separate bowl. Fold the chopped strawberry into the 1 ¼ cup of pudding.

Spread the pudding you just mixed with the strawberries into the bottom of the graham cracker crust.

Measure one cup of the whipped topping and mix it into the bowl with the remaining pudding. Fold the whipped topping into the pudding until it is mixed in well.

Gently spread it on top of the first pie filling layer in the pie crust.

Now, spread the remaining whipped topping onto of that layer. Cover the pie with the plastic cover that came with the pie crust or use plastic wrap. Just keep the plastic wrap from touching the top of the pie or the whipped cream will stick to it.

Refrigerate the pie at least 4 hours before serving.

May also be frozen for a frozen pudding pie.

If freezing remove from freezer about 20 minutes before slicing.

Expert Recipe Tips

  • Chilling: Chill the pie at least 4 hours to allow it to firm up. Overnight is even better.
  • Garnish: Garnish each slice of pie with whole or sliced strawberries when serving.
