Sweet and Refreshing Mango Mojito
Summer is the perfect time for a Mango Mojito. I have fallen in love with Mojitos. I am a late bloomer when it comes to the Mojito but after I made my first fruity Mojito which was this Strawberry Mojito it's like I just can't stop trying to come up with new Mojito flavors. Like this Mango Mojito recipe I made the other day.
Why did I wait so long to try a Mojito? I've know all about Mojito's for a very long time. I'm one of those geeky people who love to learn not only about new recipes but also about the history of a recipe.
Living in Florida for many years we of course visited Key West many times. It's kind of hard to visit Key West and not learn about Ernest Hemingway and his love of a traditional Mojito.
I mean there are not many famous people who actually have an entire week of fun festivities celebrated every year in their honor like Ernest Hemingway and the Annual Hemingway Days celebrated in the Florida Keys each July.
I never made it to Key West during Hemingway Week. We always planned our Key West vacations for the long Memorial Day weekend just a few week shy of Hemingway Week but every year before we went to Key West I would research what to do while in Key West and learned all about the Hemingway House, the six toed Hemingway cats that can be seen running around Key West and how Ernest Hemingway fell in love with the Mojito while writing in Cuba.
I love a traditional Mojito but what I am really loving is trying new flavored Mojitos using fresh fruit. This week it is a Mango Mojito but I've also made a Coconut Mojito recipe, a Strawberry Mojito recipe and a Blueberry Mojito recipe. They are all delicious and a perfect way to enjoy the summer with a refreshing Mojito.
