Frozen Fruit Punch Cups are a fun frozen treat for the kids. Are you celebrating the 4th of July with a backyard bbq and fireworks?

This frozen fruit treat will be a refreshing frozen treat that will keep the kids cool and hydrated in the hot summer heat.

Frozen Fruit Punch Cups recipe

Frozen Fruit Punch Cups are a combination of fruit punch with fresh and canned fruit that is frozen in a plastic cup and a perfect kid-friendly summer treat.

I found this fun frozen treat recipe in a Taste of Home cookbook. The minute I saw it I knew I had to make it for my grand-kids for the 4th of July. I can't find the cookbook at the moment but you can find a similar recipe made without lemon-lime soda on the Taste of Home website.

We are having a barbecue for family and friends. The kids will be running around in the hot sun. To keep them from getting over heated it is important to make sure they get enough fluids. My grand kids are going to love these frozen fruit cups and they will help cool them off.

Frozen Fruit Punch Cups

Frozen Fruit Punch Cups are easy to make, easy for the kids to eat and can be made a week ahead of time and kept frozen until serving. A perfect frozen treat for all your summer backyard barbecues and activities.

My Frozen Fruit Punch Cups have fresh strawberries, blueberries, sliced banana's, thinly sliced lemon, crushed pineapple and mandarin oranges slices.

What Kind of Fruit Can you use?

You can use any combination of fruit you like to make these frozen fruit cups. You could do all summer berries. Red and blue colored fruit would be perfect for Fourth of July Frozen Fruit Cups.

Fruit and Punch ingredients

I used 8 oz plastic cups with lids to make individual frozen fruit servings and had enough ingredients to fill 8 cups.

You could use 4 oz cups and make 16 individual servings if you are serving a crowd at your 4th of July party.

Serving is easy when you put all of the frozen fruit cups in a bucket filled with ice. Remove the fruit cups from the freezer and place on the counter about 20 minutes before serving so they can start to melt a bit.

Fruit Punch

The punch portion of this frozen fruit recipe is made by combining the fruit juice from the canned crushed pineapple and the mandarin oranges with lemonade concentrate and lemon-lime soda.

Individual Frozen Fruit Cups

Individual Frozen Fruit Cups are a refreshing summer treat. Serve them in plastic cups with a straw and a spoon so you can sip the fruit punch as it melts and use a spoon to scoop the refreshing frozen fruit up. Kids and adults will love this fun fruit treat.

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  • Place the sliced strawberries, blueberries, lemon slices, sugar and water into a large bowl. Toss the fruit with the granulated sugar so the sugar begins to dissolve.
  • Add the Mandarin orange slices and crushed pineapple to the bowl. Gently toss to combine.
  • Add the sliced banana to the bowl and gently toss to cover with the liquids in the bowl. The pineapple and orange juice will keep the banana slices from turning brown.
  • Add the lemonade concentrate and lemon-lime soda to the bowl and gently toss.
  • Fill each cup leaving a couple of inches at the top for expansion in the freezer.
  • Make eight 12 oz cups.

This is the perfect summer treat for a sunny afternoon on the patio. Loving all the fruits. You can really make this any way you like. A great way to use up berries. Even switch up the soda.
