I know not everyone likes green smoothies. I think it is the fact that they have spinach in them. I honestly can't taste the spinach. I happen to love fresh baby spinach leaves in my salads and love it in my green smoothies.
What I have found is that when you add spinach or kale to a green smoothie it actually gives a smoothie just a hint of bitterness to the flavor.
The easiest way to fix that is to add just a tiny bit of a sweetener to it. Since I am avoiding sugar I used SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated.
Adding a sweetener to a smoothie recipe is a lot like adding salt to a baked goods recipe. You can't really taste it, but it enhances the flavor of the other ingredients.

- ½ pear, cored and peeled
- 1 ½ cups ice cubes
