Instant Pot Pancake Bites Ingredients
The Instant Pot Pancake Sausage Bites recipe only has two ingredients with some water and your favorite dipping syrup.
- 2 cups of Complete Pancake Mix
- 1 ½ cups of water
- 5 breakfast link sausage, browned in a skillet
- Pancake Syrup
Pancake Bites Recipe Substitutes
The Pancake Batter
- You can use a homemade pancake batter in place of the complete pancake mix.
- You will need more ingredients to make the homemade pancake mix and you may end up with some extra pancake batter. You could make a second batch of pancake bites with the leftover batter.
The Sausage Links
- You can substitute chicken sausage links for the pork sausage links I used in this recipe.
- You can use cooked ground sausage instead of sausage links. The ground sausage will be distributed throughout the pancake batter or may sink to the bottom of the bites mold.
- I have not tried using ground sausage in this recipe.
- If making for small children I recommend using cooked ground sausage instead of the links.
How to make Pancake Bites
- Begin the recipe by browning the breakfast sausage links in a skillet. Cook until the sausage is browned on the outside but still slightly undercooked on the inside.
- Drain the cooked sausage on a paper towel. Cut each breakfast sausage link into thirds.
- In a small mixing bowl mix the complete pancake mix with the water until combined but still slightly lumpy. Set the pancake batter aside for 3 minutes to rest.
- Place a silicone egg bites mold on top of a silicone sling.
- Using a cookie dough scoop or a tablespoon fill each cup in the silicone mold ⅓ full.
- Place one piece of a sausage link into the center of the pancake batter in each cup.
- Top with pancake batter to fill each cup of the silicone mold ¾ full.
- Secure the silicone egg bites mold lid on top of each mold, being sure to secure the lip of the lid to the mold.
- Fill both silicone molds and stack them together on top of the silicone sling.
- Place 1 ½ cups of water for the 8-quart Instant Pot and 1 cup for the 6-quart into the bottom of the aluminum Instant Pot insert.
- Using the handy handles lower the silicone sling down into the Instant Pot.
- Twist the lid on to the Instant Pot. Push the valve to the sealing position. Press the manual button and set the time to 10 minutes.
- Once the Instant Pot has finished pressure cooking allow the steam to naturally release for five minutes. Unplug the appliance.
- Push the valve to the unsealed position and when the steam has released remove the Instant Pot lid away from your face.
- Carefully lift the silicone sling from the Instant Pot and place it on a towel to catch the dripping water.
- Unstack the silicone molds and remove the lids.
- Allow the Pancake Bites to cool for 5 minutes. Once cooled flip each mold over onto a plate.
- Apply slight pressure to each cup pushing down to release each Pancake Bite from the mold.
- Serve with your favorite syrup.
- Makes 14 Pancake Sausage Bites.

Recipe Expert Tips
- You can use the trivet that came with the Instant Pot in place of the silicone sling. I prefer the silicone sling because the handles make it easy to remove the egg bites mold from the Instant Pot. The handles do not get hot.
