During the holiday season serve a special dip to your guests.
This Crab Dip recipe is made with a seasoning most homes down south always has on hand. Can you guess what it is?
Old Bay Seasoning is a staple in this south Florida spice cabinet.
Living on the Gulf Coast where fresh seafood is available all year long we use Old Bay Seasoning any time we cook a recipe with fresh shrimp or crab.
It adds that something special flavoring you can't get from another spice blend.
Hot or Cold Crab Dip?
Do you like hot crab dip or cold crab dip?
I prefer a cold crab dip but this recipe can also be served warm.
Heat it up in the microwave or serve it right from a dip size crock pot on your appetizer table.
I used canned crab meat because it is so much easier to use but if you happen to have a handy supply of fresh blue crab meat you could use it instead.

Crab Dynasty
Tbis is an excellent crab dip recipe. There are many recipes out there, but this one is really easy. I have tried this recipe using both Philly-style cream cheese (which is more dense), and whipped cream cheese (which is fluffier). Depending on the consistency that you are going for, both options make a great dip. Using fresh lump crab meat works best with this recipe. If budget does not allow, canned will work. Goes really well with white wine!
