This sweet Cherry Iced Tea recipe is one of many summer beverage recipes flavored with fresh cherries I have shared this summer.

It is so easy to turn those ripe and juicy sweet cherries into your favorite summer beverage. I've told you the secret with every fresh cherry drink recipe I've shared.....

To start with you will need a batch of cherry simple syrup. Once you've made the cherry simple syrup you can use it to make this Sweet Cherry Iced Tea recipe.

Sweet Cherry Iced Tea recipe via flouronmyface.com

Ingredients

  • ¼-1/2 cup Sweet Cherry Simple Syrup
  • 1 glass of your favorite unsweetened iced tea
  • ice

Directions

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Add ¼ cup Sweet Cherry Simple Syrup.
  3. Fill glass with unsweetened tea.
  4. Stir, taste and add more cherry simple syrup if needed.

Ingredients  

Cherry Syrup Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen or fresh Sweet Black Cherries
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water

How to make a glass Sweet Cherry Iced Tea

  • ¼-1/2 cup Sweet Cherry Simple Syrup
  • 1 glass unsweetened iced tea (homemade iced tea or store bought)
  • ice

Instructions 

How to make sweet Cherry Syrup

  • Measure the ingredients into a medium saucepan.
  • Heat on low until sugar is mostly dissolved.
  • Increase heat to medium high and bring to a boil.
  • Stir and crush cherries against the side of the pot.
  • Carefully boil for ten minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened. If syrup starts to boil over decrease heat a bit.
  • After ten minutes remove from heat and cool.
  • Pour the syrup through a fine mesh strainer placed over a bowl.
  • Pour cherry syrup into a mason jar and store in the refrigerator until needed.

How to make a glass of Cherry Iced Tea

  • Fill a glass with ice.
  • Add ¼ cup of sweet cherry syrup
  • Fill the glass with unsweetened tea.
  • Stir, taste and add more cherry simple syrup if needed.

    This sounds really good. I too have been doing a lot with cherries this summer. Ever since I learn about one of those cherry pitters and got one I have been canning them and making different things.

    Normally I'm not a big fan of fruit tea, I'm more of a black tea purest but this sounds lovely! Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks for stopping by! Black tea is my favorite also and the cherry simple syrup tastes wonderful in any type of tea. You could even mix it with club soda and enjoy a glass of homemade cherry soda.
