Homemade Apple Cinnamon Fruit Roll-Ups

Today's Apple Cinnamon Fruit Roll-Ups recipe is the second fruit leather recipe I am sharing. I also made Peach Fruit Roll-Ups. I hinted at a funny story in the Peach Fruit Roll-Ups recipe post or maybe it was the Crock Pot Apple Sauce recipe. Today is the day I come clean.

I checked and it's the Crock Pot Apple Sauce recipe from about a month ago where I mentioned my little boo boo.

So you know every once in awhile I do something and as I am doing it I get a feeling I shouldn't be doing it. Call it intuition, a sixth sense or my spidey sense - whatever you like.

My Crock Pot Apple Sauce turned out so good! I've made homemade apple sauce before in a pot on the stove. Thing is when you make it on the stove you have to baby sit that pot for hours.

You've got to constantly stir it and check it to make sure all the moisture doesn't evaporate and burn the apples as they are cooking.

Making apple sauce in the crock pot is so much easier. Throw all the ingredients in a slow cooker and let it cook slow and low over night or all day long. You only need to check on it a few times. It's less likely to burn in a slow cooker.

Looking at the picture of crock pot apple sauce you might be wondering....... so what's the boo boo? No. There's no boo boo here. The boo boo happened about five minutes after this photo was taken.

For the life of me I could not find my potato masher so I could mash up the remaining lumps of apples. Mind you even thought the apple sauce looks lumpy. Its not in the least. The apples are completely cooked and are actually so soft you could mash them with a back of a spoon if you had to.

So why why why did I think pouring the apple sauce into my high speed blender was a good idea? Guess what? It's not a good idea because what you end up with is apple sauce baby food. Which is perfect if you have a 6 month old in the house. My baby is 19 years old.

So what do you do with about 2 quarts of apple sauce baby food when you don't have a baby or even know anyone with a baby that young?
