Crock Pot Cheesy Beef Spaghetti is one of the cheesiest baked spaghetti recipes you will ever make. I've taken our favorite family pasta dish and turned it into an easy crock pot meal.

You can make a cheesy baked spaghetti recipe in your crock pot with uncooked pasta that your family will love. This is one of my easy crock pot ground beef recipes everyone will love.

What is so great about this recipe? It is delicious, it is easy and it is cheesy! No need to cook the pasta before hand! The spaghetti noodles will cook to perfection in the slow cooker.

Unless you decide to make some homemade crusty Italian bread to serve with it.

crock pot pasta recipe made with uncooked pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 16 oz. uncooked spaghetti noodles, broken in half.
  • 48 oz. favorite pasta sauce
  • ½ to 1 cup water
  • 2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet seasoning it with the garlic salt. Add the minced garlic to the skillet when the ground beef is almost cooked through. Continue to brown the beef until no longer pink. Drain the browned ground beef well.
  2. Break the spaghetti noodles in half and place them in a 7-quart crock pot slow cooker.
  3. Add the drained ground beef to the crock pot.
  4. Pour ½ cup of water and the pasta sauce on top of the ground beef and broken pasta noodles to the crock pot. Stir the pasta around a bit so the sauce sinks to the bottom of the crock pot.
  5. Place the lid on and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours on high or 5 to 6 hours on low. Halfway through the cooking time check to see if the sauce starting to cook too much on the bottom of the slow cooker. If it is and the pasta is not cooked through add the remaining ½ cup of water to the slow cooker and stir. Continue to cook until the pasta is cooked through.
  6. Right before serving sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the cooked spaghetti, cover and allow to melt before serving.
  7. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Can you cook uncooked pasta in the crock pot?

I first discovered how easy it was to slow cook a pasta recipe with uncooked noodle when I converted my Baked Ziti recipe into a Crock Pot Baked Ziti recipe using uncooked pasta.

This crock pot cheesy baked spaghetti recipe made with uncooked pasta cooked up just as easily as my Crock Pot Baked Ziti recipe.

As long as there is enough moisture from the pasta sauce and a little bit of water the uncooked pasta noodles cook up just fine.

Best side dish for pasta

The best side dish to serve with pasta is a simple salad with a creamy dressing and crusty bread.

  • Chef's Salad with homemade buttermilk ranch.
  • Crusty bread like homemade Italian bread.

Recipe FAQS

Can you cook uncooked pasta in the crock pot?

Yes, you can make spaghetti with uncooked pasta in the crock pot. Just be sure to keep a close eye on it to make sure the pasta doesn't over cook.

Expert Recipe Tips

  • Pasta sauce: Make my Crock Pot Spaghetti Meat Sauce and freeze the leftovers so you will always have homemade sauce on hand.
  • Seasoning the ground beef: Season the ground beef while browning any way you like. Add diced red pepper and diced onion while browning the ground beef if that is the way your family likes to eat pasta sauce.
  • Cooking time: The cooking time will vary depending on the size of crock pot used and the type of pasta used. Cooking times are approximate. Check occasionally to make sure the pasta is not overcooking and the sauce is not drying out on the bottom of the slow cooker and scorching.
  • Water amounts: The water amount needed will vary depending on the type of sauce you use and the size of the crock pot used.
  • Cooking notes: Do not over cook or the pasta will turn to mush. It is important to keep an eye on the pasta for the last hour to prevent over cooking.
