The center of the red velvet cake is moist and delicious. The topping slightly crunchy from the melted butter.

While the cake portion is an explosion of flavors from the moist cake that has baked together with the cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple.

I've made a few dump cake recipes in my crock pot but the topping never gets as crunchy as it does when you bake a dump cake in the oven.

Dump Cakes have been around since the '80s and maybe even earlier.

The name of the cake recipe is pretty self-explanatory. You literally dump all of the cake ingredients into a baking dish and bake them together.
