How To Freeze Cookie Dough

Ingredients

  • one batch of homemade sugar cookie dough (recipe coming)
  • freezer bag
  • cookie sheet

Directions

  1. Make your favorite cookie dough recipe.
  2. Divide the batch of dough in half.
  3. Form the dough into a ball.
  4. Place to ball of cookie dough into a gallon size freezer bag.
  5. Flatten the dough into a disk.
  6. Close the bag and place on a cookie sheet.
  7. Place the cookie sheet into the freezer until the dough has frozen completely.
  8. Remove the cookie sheet and stack the frozen disks of dough neatly in the freezer.

How to thaw frozen cookie dough

  1. Remove the cookie dough from the freezer.
  2. If baking within an hour place the cookie dough on the counter to thaw.
  3. Once the dough is soft enough to handle roll out as usual and cut with cookie cutters.

If not baking immediately place the frozen cookie dough in the refrigerator to thaw overnight.
