How to froth milk without a milk frother?
Making homemade drinks like a Chai Latte at home just wouldn't be the same without a frothy head of warm foamy milk on top.
You can pick up an (affiliate) inexpensive milk frother in most big retail stores.
Even if you don't own a milk frother it is easy to froth milk at home.
My Ninja Coffeemaker (read about my DIY Ninja Coffee Bar here) has a milk frother built in.
It makes frothing milk for all my favorite coffee house drinks easy.
If you do not have a milk frother pour one cup of milk into a saucepan and warm until bubbles begin to form along the edges of the milk.
Remove the pan from the heat and use a wire whisk to whisk the warm milk until frothy.
Helpful Tips to help make Crock Pot Chai Latte
- Tea bags are more convenient but you can use an equivalent amount of loose black tea. You'll need a tea ball if you use loose black tea and one for the spices.
- If using a tea ball for the spices place all of the smaller spices into the tea ball. The cinnamon stick may be added to the crock pot and allowed to float. They can easily be removed from the crock pot when serving.
- The amount of time for the spices and tea to heat is very flexible. It only takes a couple of hours for the black tea and spices to get hot. You can heat until the tea is hot and the spices have infused the tea to your liking. Then switch the crock pot on warm and add the milk. Once the milk has been added you can keep the chai tea hot by leaving the crock pot on the warm setting.
- Starting the crock pot on high allows you to serve the Chai Latte much quicker if you are in a hurry.
- Adding warmed milk will keep the Chai Latte warm for serving. You may allow the milk to come to room temperature before adding it to the Chai tea in the crock pot.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of spices used. If you like a warmer spicier chai latte increase the amount of warm spices-whole cloves, peppercorns, and ginger are warmer spices. Experiment until you find the perfect combination of Chai spices that you enjoy.

Website feedback: I really hate the sidebar notice “Do not sell or share my Information”. Does it have to be located there? It interferes with the view pretty significantly.

Can you use ground spices instead? What would be the quantities of each? Thank you!
