Strawberry Lemonade Ingredients
- simple syrup is used as the sweetener instead of granulated sugar.
- freshly squeezed lemon juice or frozen canned concentrate
- homemade strawberry puree for the best and freshest strawberry flavor.
- fresh or frozen strawberries can be used.
- garnish with sliced lemon, sliced strawberries and fresh mint.

Directions
Step 1: Recipe prep: Begin this recipe a few hours ahead of time or the night before to allow the simple syrup to cool.
Step 2: In a medium saucepan combine the granulated sugar and water. Bring to a gentle boil. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely.
Step 3: while the simple syrup is cooling prepare the strawberry puree. Rinse strawberries under cold water. Trim the cap and any bruised areas from each strawberry. Sprinkle with sugar. Puree the sweetened strawberries with ½ cup water in a blender until smooth.
Strain the pureed strawberries using a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds. If using a high powered blender you can skip straining. Set aside.
Step 4: Slice the lemons in half and squeeze the juice trough a fine mesh strainer placed over a bowl.
Step 5: Fill a ½ gallon pitcher half full with ice, add some lemon slices and sliced strawberries.
Pour the lemon juice, the strawberry puree and half the simple syrup into the pitcher. Stir to combine.
Taste and add more simple syrup if needed. Or dilute with ½ cup water if too tart.
Step 6: To serve fill each glass with ice, garnish with a lemon slice, a few slices of strawberry and a sprig of mint. Fill the glass with the strawberry lemonade to serve.

Judy
Several years ago I fell in love with strawberry lemonade from Red Robin in Houston. As soon as I got home I found a recipe in a copy of Food Network magazine and made a batch. Being very lazy and the high cost of lemons I used a bottle of frozen pure lemon juice (yellow bottle) and it was divine!!! This is equally as good made with a can of frozen limeade concentrate.

I am all for convenient substitutions! Frozen lemonade concentrate would work great! I have a similar recipe made with frozen pink lemonade on the blog. It's my Easy Fruity Pink Lemonade recipe made with berries. Fresh strawberries could also be used.
