Ah, the warm weather is finally here and you'll need this sweet and refreshing Strawberry Lemonade to quench your thirst.

Lemonade is the perfect warm weather beverage because it is so easy to make and everyone loves fruity flavored lemonade during the warm weather.

Decorative glass filled with ice, strawberry lemonade and garnished with lemon slice and mint sprig.

When your planning your summer backyard bbq's, pool side parties and trips to the beach you have to have something sweet and refreshing to drink.

Strawberry Lemonade is perfect for any of these occasions or just because you feel like making yourself something a little fancy to sip on during the hot summer months.

You really don't need a special occasion. You might be hanging out in the backyard as the kids are playing in their kiddy pool cooling off.

Even a day in the back yard can turn into a special occasion for the kids and their friends.

Imagine the look on their faces when you bring an ice cold pitcher of this bright red Strawberry Lemonade with slices of fresh strawberry and lemon floating in it outside to pour them a glass.

I know my kids and now my grandkids really get a kick out it when I serve them something special like this Strawberry Lemonade.

Strawberry Lemonade Ingredients

Strawberry Lemonade ingredients measured out in containers.
  • simple syrup is used as the sweetener instead of granulated sugar.
  • freshly squeezed lemon juice or frozen canned concentrate
  • homemade strawberry puree for the best and freshest strawberry flavor.
  • fresh or frozen strawberries can be used.
  • garnish with sliced lemon, sliced strawberries and fresh mint.
  • ice

Directions

Step 1: Recipe prep: Begin this recipe a few hours ahead of time or the night before to allow the simple syrup to cool.

Step 2: In a medium saucepan combine the granulated sugar and water. Bring to a gentle boil. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely.

Step 3: while the simple syrup is cooling prepare the strawberry puree. Rinse strawberries under cold water. Trim the cap and any bruised areas from each strawberry. Sprinkle with sugar. Puree the sweetened strawberries with ½ cup water in a blender until smooth.

Strain the pureed strawberries using a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds. If using a high powered blender you can skip straining. Set aside.

Step 4: Slice the lemons in half and squeeze the juice trough a fine mesh strainer placed over a bowl.

Several years ago I fell in love with strawberry lemonade from Red Robin in Houston. As soon as I got home I found a recipe in a copy of Food Network magazine and made a batch. Being very lazy and the high cost of lemons I used a bottle of frozen pure lemon juice (yellow bottle) and it was divine!!! This is equally as good made with a can of frozen limeade concentrate.

I am all for convenient substitutions! Frozen lemonade concentrate would work great! I have a similar recipe made with frozen pink lemonade on the blog. It's my Easy Fruity Pink Lemonade recipe made with berries. Fresh strawberries could also be used. Easy Fruity Pink Lemonade
