Prep
- Bacon: Fry the bacon until crispy and drain on paper towels before starting the rest of the recipe.
- Pasta: Cook the pasta, drain well and rinse under cold water and drain again before starting the Alfredo sauce.
- Cheese: Shred the Smoked Gouda cheese and Parmesan cheese before starting the Alfredo sauce. The shredded cheese needs to be added to the hot Alfredo sauce to melt properly.
Equipment and Tools
- Cheese Grater: A box grater or a basic cheese grater with a handle
- Cooking Vessel: I used a large non stick skillet to cook the alfredo sauce and to serve the fettuccine alfredo
- Pasta Serving Bowls: I love my pasta serving bowls. I found some similar ones on Amazon.
- Serving pasta: I like to use my kitchen tongs to serve pasta dishes made with long pasta noodles. It makes it so easy to serve without making a big mess.
- Whisking the sauce: A whisk is needed to make the alfredo sauce. It helps break up the lumps for a smooth and creamy sauce. Use a plastic whisk when cooking in a non stick pan.
