Lion King Lollipop Baby Shower Favors

One of the easiest baby shower favors to make are chocolate lollipops. That is why I made these Lion King Lollipop Baby Shower Favors.

You can personalize diy lollipops to match any baby shower color theme by using Wilton Candy Melts to match the colors of the baby shower. I made these Lion King Lollipop Baby Shower Favors using the Wilton Onesie Lollipop Mold.

The theme of our baby shower was the Disney Lion King. I had a hard time finding baby shower favors to match the theme so I made my own. Along with these Lion King Lollipop Baby Shower favors I also made Lion King Cake Pops to coordinate with the shower colors.

How to make Lion King Chocolate Lollipop Baby Shower Favors

Homemade chocolate lollipops are so easy to make. All you need to do is melt some Wilton Candy Melts in the colors to match your baby shower theme, pipe the melted candy into a candy mold, stick a lollipop stick in and let the melted candy harden. The fun part is embellishing the packaging. You can do simple or you can go all out and add a printable image and a ribbon.

The hardest thing to making your own chocolate lollipops is getting the melted chocolate into the lollipop mold without making a huge mess. Don't bother trying to use a spoon. It is hard to keep the melted chocolate from going all over the place. When you use a Wilton Decorator bag it is easy to get the chocolate into the mold and it makes cleanup so much easier. No bowls to wash..... you just throw the bag in the garbage and you are done.

Fill all of the individual cavities with the melted candy melts ( I've only filled one cavity to demonstrate) and insert a lollipop stick about half way up the center of the mold. Gently tap the mold on the counter or table to smooth the chocolate out.

Once the entire mold is filled with melted chocolate put it in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes. After five minutes turn the mold over on a piece of wax or parchment paper and the lollipops will usually fall right out of the mold. If you have one that is stubborn gently put pressure in the center of the lollipop and that will usually help unmold it.

You can get many lollipops made when you work with two molds by filling one and placing in the refrigerator to harden while  you are filling the other.

Place the hardened lollipop on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper or aluminum foil in a single layer as they harden.

Do not try to stack the lollipops to store them because you will get ding marks. Leave them in a single layer until you can wrap them in plastic lollipop bags.
