I love meals like this easy Italian Sausage, Pepper and Pasta recipe that is quick to throw together in one skillet. If your family is anything like mine then you are probably being pulled in a million directions during the week. Getting a delicious dinner on the table sometimes can seem almost impossible. This easy pasta skillet recipe is so easy to make.

I used the my favorite Italian Sausage for this recipe. You can use any chicken or pork Italian sausage variety you love.
Prep
- Cook the pasta following the directions on the box. Drain and set aside.
- Slice the sausage and peppers.
- If using a block of mozzarella cheese shred it before starting.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 bell peppers, sliced thinly (I used one red and one yellow)
- 1 package 4 or five links of Italian Style Sausage, sliced into medallions
- 8 oz penne pasta, cooked al dente
- 24 oz pasta sauce
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- fresh parmesan cheese (optional)
Directions
- In a large skillet heat the olive oil.
- Sauté the bell peppers and sausage together until the sausage is cooked through.
- Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss.
- Sauté for 3 minutes, gently tossing the pasta.
- Add the sauce to the pan and toss until all the pasta is evenly coated with sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top and place a lid on the pan.
- Reduce the heat enough to prevent scorching and allow the cheese to melt.
- Plate and grate some fresh parmesan cheese over the top.
Serve your family this recipe in about 30 minutes. It is one of the easiest and most delicious skillet meals I have ever made.
