How To Make Easter Bunny Bark

Easter Bunny Bark is an easy Easter treat to make when for or with the kids.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bag Wilton Bright White Candy Melts, melted
  • 1 cup Wilton Bright Pink Candy Melts, melted and divided
  • 1 cup Wilton Turquoise Candy Melts, melted and divided
  • 1 cup Hersey Candy Coated Chocolate Eggs
  • ¼ cup Pastel Colored M&M's
  • 10 Mini Kit Kat Candy Bars, cut into thirds
  • 5 Blue Marshmallow Peeps
  • 4 or 5 Pink Marshmallow Peep Bunnies
  • 4 Purple Marshmallow Peep Bunnies
  • Pastel Colored Sprinkles (I used Sweet Tooth Fairy Unicorn Sprinkle Mix. I removed the golden unicorn horns from the mix)
  • 2 sandwich size plastic bags (optional) for drizzling

Directions

Prep: Before beginning place a silicone candy bark mold on a cookie sheet and set aside. If you don't have a silicone mold you can use a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.

Step 1: Pour the white candy melts into a bowl or container and set aside. Measure the pink and turquoise candy melts and place each color into its own bowl. Set Aside.

Step 2: Unwrap and cut the Kit Kat Bars into thirds and place them in a small bowl. Set aside. Cut the blue Peeps in half and set aside. Pour some of the sprinkles in a bowl and set aside. Open the plastic packages of the Marshmallow Bunnies.

Step 3: Place the bowl of the white candy melts or white melting chocolate in the microwave and heat on high for 30 seconds. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the candy melts.

Return the bowl to the microwave and heat again on 30 seconds. After 30 seconds remove the bowl from the microwave and using a spatula or spoon mix the softening candy melts. They should be at least partially melted. Mine were complexly melted.

If yours still have lumps of the un-melted candy melts return to the microwave and heat at 10-second intervals, checking each time by stirring. Once the white candy melts are completely melted set them aside.

Step 4: Place the pink candy melts in the microwave and heat them for 25 seconds. Remove them from the microwave and stir. Return to the microwave and heat another 20 seconds. Again decrease the heating time until the pink candy melts are completely melted. Set them aside and repeat with the turquoise candy melts.

Step 5: Stir the white candy melts and if they seem to have started to set up heat them for 10 seconds in the microwave otherwise pour the melted white candy melts into the silicone candy bark tray. With a spatula quickly spread the melted candy over the entire bottom of the tray and into the corners.

Step 6: Stir the turquoise candy melts and drop dollops of the melted candy over the white melted candy. Repeat with the pink candy melts.

Step 7: Marble the 3 colors of melted candy using a butter knife or a narrow plastic spatula.

Step 8: Immediately begin layering the candy over the melted candy melts or chocolate. Place the marshmallow chicks and rabbits onto the melted candy and gently press down so the surface it touching the melted candy.

Step 9: Continue until all of the candy and sprinkles have been layered on top of the melted candy in the tray.

Step 10: Place a piece of wax paper or plastic wrap over the top of the tray and gently push down so all the Easter candy embeds into the melted candy.

Step 11: Scoop the leftover melted pink candy melts into a sandwich bag. Work it down into a corner. Snip a small hole in the corner of the bag and drizzle the melted candy over the top of the Easter bark in the tray. Repeat with the remaining turquoise candy melts.

Step 12: Refrigerate until the candy melts have hardened.

Step 13: Once hardened remove the bark from the mold and using a sharp knife cut or break the Easter Bunny Bark into bite-size pieces. Store in an airtight container until serving.

Holiday Bark Ideas

Easter Bunny Bark is made by melting white almond bark, chocolate chips or Wilton candy melts and topping it with all kinds of Easter candy..

Once the candy layer has hardened you break or cut it into bite-size pieces.

The kids love it and so do the adults.

I love to make holiday bark recipes and have shared a few other bark recipes over the years.

You don't have to look far for Holiday Bark Ideas. Use your imagination.

You can pretty much layer any kind of candy, cookie, dried fruits, nuts, and sprinkles on top of melted chocolate or candy coating and call it a Holiday Bark recipe.

Since Easter is a few weeks away I wanted to make an Easter Bark recipe with peeps and marshmallow bunnies for the grandkids.

When you bring out a tray of Easter Bunny Bark you are going to see the kid's eyes light up when they see all their favorite Easter candies piled on top of the candy coating layer.

Super Easy Easter Treats

Easter Bunny Bark is a super easy Easter Treat even the kids can make.

Older children can easily melt the candy coating in the microwave with adult supervision and the younger kids will have a blast piling on their favorite Easter candy on the melted candy coating.

Recipe Expert Tips for Making Easter Bunny Bark

  • Prep: Prepare all of the candy by unwrapping and cutting into pieces if needed before starting.
  • Melting the candy melts or chocolate: Do not begin melting the candy melts until all of the topping candy in prepared. You will melt all three colors of candy melts in the microwave one at a time before pouring any into the tray. You may need to reheat the last color a few seconds before pouring it into the mold if it has started to harden. The candy melts begin to harden quickly and you will not be able to push the candy toppings into the melted chocolate if it starts to harden.
  • What kind of Easter candy to use?: I used a combination of marshmallow peeps, marshmallow bunnies, M&Ms, Hersey Candy Coated chocolate eggs, mini Twix bars, and sprinkles. You can use any type of Easter candy you have on hand.
