It is party season and these 2 ingredient bite size appetizers are the perfect holiday appetizer recipe.

Holiday platter filled with crescent bite size appetizers.

The busy holiday season is here and even though time is short we all want to make and serve delicious party food when we are entertaining.

I have a secret weapon when it comes to serving delicious appetizers at my holiday parties.

My secret weapon for a successful holiday party is using Pillsbury Crescent Rolls to make easy holiday recipes.

How to fill crescent roll bites with cheese to make appetizers

Crescent Rolls are magical when it comes to making easy sweet or savory recipes.

The combinations of fillings you can stuff into a piece of buttery and flaky crescent roll dough is endless.

You can use them to make savory appetizers or sweet dessert recipes like Cranberry Dessert bars.

a baking tray of crescent roll appetizers for the holidays.

2 Ingredient Party Appetizers

Cranberry Goat Cheese Crescent Bites appetizer recipe is made with only 2 ingredients.

To make 24 party appetizers you will only need one can of Pillsbury™ Crescent Rolls and a log of cinnamon cranberry goat cheese.

That is it! You can't get much easier than that when you are making party appetizers.

It is amazing how these two simple ingredients can come together to make the perfect savory holiday appetizer.

The buttery and flaky crescent roll dough wraps around the cranberry flavored goat cheese as it bakes and creates a bite-size piece of heaven.

If you can't find a log of cranberry goat cheese you could chop up dried cranberries and mix them into some softened goat cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Crescent Rolls
  • 4 oz. cranberry cinnamon goat cheese log
  • homemade crème fraiche or sour cream (optional)
  • minced parsley (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F. degrees.
  2. Prepare the baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Cut two more pieces of parchment paper that are about 12 by 16 inches long.
  4. Lay one piece of parchment paper down on the counter or a cutting board.
  5. Open the crescent roll packaging and place the starting end of the roll of crescent rolls two inched from one edge of the piece of parchment paper. Carefully, without splitting the perforated edges of the crescent roll dough unroll the crescent roll onto the parchment paper.
  6. If any of the individual crescent rolls have separated gently pull the perforated edges back together.
  7. Pinch the seams of the crescent rolls together sealing the dough together. Tap each seam with your finger to smooth out the edges.
  8. Place the other piece of parchment paper over the top of the crescent roll dough and rub your hand over it to smooth it out. With a rolling pin roll the dough into a 12 x 8-inch rectangle. Flip the parchment covered crescent dough over and gently roll the rolling pin over the dough to smooth that side. Gently peel the parchment paper off and pinch together any seams that have not sealed together. Place the parchment paper back over the dough. Slide it onto a cookie sheet and chill in the refrigerator 10 minutes.
  9. After ten minutes remove the dough from the refrigerator, place it on your work surface and peel the top layer of parchment paper off. Trim with a sharp knife any edges of the dough that are not straight.
  10. With a sharp knife, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows to make 24 squares.
  11. Unwrap the goat cheese log. Use a one teaspoon measuring spoon to scoop the goat cheese from the log.
  12. Place a scant teaspoon of goat cheese in the center of each square of crescent dough. Bring the four corner together to overlap and twist to seal the dough.
  13. Place the filled crescent bites on the parchment lined baking sheet two inches apart. Repeat until you've filled all 24 pieces of crescent dough with goat cheese.
  14. Bake the crescent bites for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown. Remove the tray from the oven and bake the other pan if you used two smaller baking pans. Serve the crescent roll bites warm or at room temperature.
  15. Makes 24 appetizers.

Helpful tips to make Cranberry Goat Cheese Crescent Bites

  • Parchment paper is a must have for this recipe. I use parchment paper for almost all of my baked recipes. It prevents dough from sticking. It helps keep the bottom of baked good from overcooking and burning. It also makes clean up a breeze.
  • If you don't have a rolling pin use a smooth-edged glass.
  • 9 x 13-inch baking sheet (you'll need two ¼ sheet baking pans or a large cookie sheet)
  • Chilling the dough makes it easier to handle when cutting and filling.
  • I bought a 1 lb cranberry cinnamon goat cheese log. For one batch of Cranberry Goat Cheese Crescent Bites you will only need about 4 oz. Use the leftover goat cheese log for a Holiday Cheese Platter.  Or you will be able to make about 3 batches of the Cranberry Goat Cheese Crescent Bites appetizers with a one lb log of goat cheese.
  • Can make the day before. Refrigerate the baked appetizers and bring to room temperature before serving.
  • Optional: Add a dollop of sour cream or crème fraiche (I used homemade crème fraiche) to the top of each appetizer and sprinkle with minced parsley before serving.

Where can I find the cranberry cinnamon goat cheese. Recipe sounds fabulous, but I doubt our grocery store carries the goat cheese.

      Hi CarolAnn

Sorry but I do not have the recipe. It would be easy to make though. You could add some ground cinnamon to softened goat cheese and form a log. Roll the log in some chopped dried cranberries. Refrigerate until firm. Go easy on the cinnamon. It can be over powering if you add too much. I would start with a half teaspoon cinnamon mixed with 4 oz. of goat cheese. Taste before adjusting the amount of cinnamon.
