Unicorn Slime Party Favors
Unicorn Slime Party Favors are a great party favor for a unicorn-themed birthday party. The colors I chose for my Unicorn Slime Party favors could even be used to make Mermaid Slime Party Favors.
I have included a borax Unicorn slime recipe and a new easy to use safe non-toxic way to make slime with a new product I found while buying the supplies to make these Unicorn Slime Party Favors.
Birthday Party Theme Ideas for Girls
I made these Unicorn Slime Party Favors to go with the Unicorn Ice Cream Cake I shared a few weeks ago.
I have 5 grandchildren and even though I don't share all of the birthday party favor ideas or birthday party theme ideas I make for their birthday parties here on the blog we are still hosting and planning fun kid themed birthday parties 5 times a year.
I usually always make the cake pops for all the birthday parties and baby showers we host.
Some birthday parties I make the birthday party favors or cupcakes. It depends on the theme of the birthday party and the idea I can come up with that will match the birthday party theme.
I have 3 granddaughters and all three of them are girlie girls and love all things sparkly and pretty.
Last year for my oldest granddaughter Hailey's Mermaid Themed Birthday party I made Mermaid themed cake pops that I just realized I haven't shared yet.
Unicorn Birthday Party Ideas
As I was making the Unicorn Ice Cream Cake a few weeks ago it turned out so beautiful that I knew I would be making another Unicorn Birthday cake for Hailey's birthday party because I was going to talk her into having a Unicorn Themed Birthday Party this year.
I snapped a picture of the unicorn cake and sent it off to my daughter. I told her that Hailey who's birthday is in August would be having a Unicorn themed Birthday party and I would make her a Unicorn Birthday Cake.
I had so much fun making the Unicorn Ice Cream Cake.
I thought it turned out so well that I was going to try and recreate the Unicorn Cake only this time using a regular birthday cake instead of the ice cream cake.
I'll be sure to snap a few photos of it and update this post with it.
Unicorn Slime Party Favors
It is always fun for me to make our birthday party favors.
Since Slime is so popular with the kids these days I knew I had to make some Unicorn Slime Birthday Party Favors to go with my Unicorn Ice Cream Cake.
My grandkids are obsessed with glitter slime and making glitter slime.
All of them from the 3-year-old grandson all the way up to my soon to be 13-year-old granddaughter Hailey love making glitter slime.
Even my 15-year-old niece who was here visiting for a couple of weeks loved making and playing with glitter slime.

- 1 ¼ cup of warm water, divided
- 16 oz food storage containers or a bowl to mix slime in (see tips)

- Crystal sticker gems: I added a crystal sticker gem to the top of the container lid and to the sides of some of the party favor containers.

Directions
- Empty one entire bottle of Elmer's Glitter Glue into the plastic food storage container or a disposable plastic bowl.
- Fill the Elmer's Glitter Glue Bottle with ¼ cup of warm water. Place the lid on and shake the bottle until most of the glitter glue has dissolved. Pour the watery glitter glue into the bowl and mix until combined.
- In a separate disposable bowl mix 1 cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon of borax. Mix well until the borax dissolves.
- Pour the borax water into the bowl with the glitter glue. Using a plastic or disposable spoon begin to mix the borax water into the glue. The glue will almost immediately begin to separate from the borax water. Mix until the glitter glue begins to get rubbery. Use the spoon to scoop the glitter slime from the bowl and place it on a clean surface to knead. Do not discard the remaining borax water yet.
- Knead the glitter slime for about 5 minutes or until it becomes less slimy. If the glitter slime is sticky drizzle about a teaspoon of the borax water over the slime and knead it in. Repeat adding more borax water until the glitter slime comes to the texture you like.
- The slime should not stick to your fingers in streams as you knead it.

Helpful tips to make Unicorn Glitter Slime
- I used food grade storage containers I have on hand to mix and store the slime in.
- I also let my grandkids make other batches of slime and these containers were perfect. They could mix the slime in them then store the slime in them when they weren't playing with it. Very tight fitting lids avoiding accidental spills of slime.
- Even though the Elmer's Slime Activator is a safer borax free way to make slime I prefer the borax method. The slime tends to get stiffer and less slimy with the borax slime method.
- What we found was that by adding more of the Elmer's Slime Activator then the instructions suggest we could get a stiffer slime.
- My granddaughter Emma has eczema and she can not use the borax method of making slime because it irritates her skin. The Elmer's Safe Non-Toxic Slime Activator is a great sensitive skin slime activator option.

Birthday Party Activity Ideas
Making Glitter Slime can be a fun birthday party activity for all ages. The kids love making the slime and then they can entertain themselves for hours playing with it.
You can set up a slime-making activity center with a long table. You might want to do this outdoors depending on the age of the children at the party.
Younger children may accidentally get the slime on furniture and rugs. Getting slime out of fabric like t-shirts, rugs, carpets or off of furniture can be a real hassle.
