This old fashioned Million Dollar Fudge recipe has quite the reputation. You may have seen it referred to as Mamie Eisenhower's Million Dollar Fudge recipe. Since it is called Million Dollar Fudge I had to make it look like a million bucks.

Vintage Recipes
I found this recipe for old-fashioned million dollar fudge in one of our old family recipe booklets that has been given to me by my mother in-law.
This Million Dollar Fudge recipe is not made with sweetened condensed milk. Instead evaporated milk is used.
A small jar of marshmallow fluff or marshmallow creme is also used but the trick to getting that decadent creamy old-fashioned homemade fudge flavor is from boiling the sugar, butter and condensed milk until a thick almost caramel sauce is made and beating it into the chocolates and marshmallow fluff.
Years ago I went on a fudge making binge trying to find the same homemade fudge recipe my mom had made one year during the holidays when I was a kid.
I finally found it. She must have made this Million Dollar Fudge recipe because as soon as I bit into a piece I knew this was the fudge recipe I had been looking for all those years ago.

Recipe FAQ's
If your fudge is not getting hard you probably did not cook it long enough. Fudge ingredients need to reach 237 to 239 °F degrees so it will set up and harden as it cools.
Recipe Expert Tips
- Making Fudge: Do not scrape the bottom of the pot as the fudge ingredients are boiling. If you do your fudge will turn out gritty instead of smooth and creamy.
- Cooking Fudge: You should cook the fudge ingredients to 237 to 239 °F degrees. If you don't the fudge will not harden.
