Cheesecake filling recipes are so popular because they are so easy to make.
Recipe Prep
You will need to make a graham cracker crust. The amount of Nutella cheesecake filling this recipe makes will require a three inch deep 9-inch round springform pan.
Graham Cracker Crust Ingredients
- Graham cracker crumbs or cookie crumbs
- granulated white sugar
- melted butter
Graham Cracker Crust Directions
I like to use a food processor to crush whole graham cracker cookies into fine crumbs. Or you can buy a box of graham cracker crumbs to use instead of crushing the cookies yourself.
- Step 1: Crush the crackers into fine crumbs in a food processor. Add the sugar and pulse until combined.
- Step 2: Drizzle the melted butter into the food processor and pulse until the cookie crumbs are moistened.
- Step 3: Line a 9-inch springform pan with a circle of parchment. Dump the graham cracker crumbs into the pan. Press the crumbs down into the bottom of the pan. Work some of the crumbs up the edges of the pan about an inch or two. Press the crumbs down to compact them.
- Step 4: Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill while you are making the Nutella filling.

Nutella cheesecake filling only requires four basic ingredients and a graham cracker crust.
- softened cream cheese: any brand will work but I like to use a firmer block of cream cheese to make my cheesecake recipes.
- pure vanilla extract: use a pure extract not an imitation for the best flavor.
- Nutella hazelnut and chocolate spread: I used Nutella. There are other brands of hazelnut and chocolate spreads available.
- Cool Whip topping extra creamy: I prefer to use the extra creamy because it is thicker.
- Optional garnish: Cool Whip topping and chocolate curls.
Step by Step Directions
- Step 1: In a large glass mixing bowl beat the cream cheese until creamy. Add the vanilla extract and beat one minute.
- Step 2: Add the Nutella hazelnut spread to the bowl and beat 2 minutes and scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Beat 2 more minutes to completely combine the cream cheese with the Nutella.
- Step 3: Add one 8 oz container of Cool Whip topping extra creamy to the mixing bowl. Beat with the mixer until combined. You should not see any streaks of Cool Whip. Scrape the sides of the bowl then beat one minute.
- Step 4: Scoop the Nutella cheesecake filling into the prepared graham cracker crust. Spread the Nutella cheesecake filling from the center of the pan to the outside edges. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Step 5: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Overnight is best.
- Step 6: Right before serving remove the cheesecake from the refrigerator. Run a thin knife along the sides of the pan. Pop the latch open on the side and carefully lift the ring of the springform pan over the cheese cake being careful not to brush against the edges of the cheesecake and damage it.
- Step 7: Optional garnish: Pipe whipped cream on the top of the cheesecake and sprinkle with chocolate shavings. Slice with a thin sharp knife into serving size pieces.
📌Pro Cheesecake Cutting Tip
📌 Use a large thin knife to cut each serving. Cleaning off the blade between each slice will help cut clean sharp slices of cheesecake.
Serving Ideas

Recipe FAQS
It only takes about 10 minutes to make Nutella cheesecake filling.
The best tip I can share is to make sure the cream cheese is complexly softened to room temperatures before beating the ingredients together. If not no matter how long you beat the ingredients you will have lumps of cream cheese.
You only need four ingredients to make Nutella cheesecake filling. You need Nutella, cream cheese, Cool Whip topping and vanilla extract.
📌Pro Cooking Tips
- the cheesecake pan: You will need to use a springform pan to make this recipe. The amount of filling is more than a standard 9-inch graham cracker crust you would purchase at the grocery store can accommodate. It will also make slicing each cheesecake serving easier.
- the crust: A graham cracker crust is a classic cheesecake crust. Get creative and use a favorite cookie to make the crust. You could use crushed Biscotti or Lady Finger cookies instead of Graham crackers.
- Chilling requirements: You can enjoy this cheesecake recipe after a few hours in the refrigerator. I recommend chilling it overnight. Chilling overnight allows the Nutella cheesecake filling to firm up completely. You will be able to cut cleaner slices with a firmer filling.
