If you love Rumchata you will be surprised to learn you can make it yourself at home. Homemade Horchata is the real authentic Mexican drink made with rice milk, almond milk, and cinnamon.
Made with or without rum it is a delicious, refreshing and easy to make almond and rice milk drink.
Making Homemade Horchata is as simple as mixing a few ingredients together and pouring over ice. And tastes 100% better than Rumchata.
How to make Agua de Horchata
If you're the adventurous type you could really go all out and make Agua de Horchata by mixing long grain white rice with almonds and soaking them in water before blending it together and draining the mixture through cheesecloth.
The remaining milky liquid is homemade authentic Horchata.
If you're not down for all the extra work you can buy a container of unsweetened almond milk and rice milk at the grocery store and follow the recipe below for my version of Horchata.
