Purple Funfetti Cake For Easter
I made this pretty Purple Funfetti Cake for Easter but you could make it for any fun purple themed party you might be celebrating with.
Colorful Funfetti Cake Mix
Have you seen the beautiful colors Funfetti cake mix comes in now? I stocked up on some of the different colored funfetti cake mixes when they were on sale for $1 a package. I couldn't wait to make something with the Purple Funfetti Cake mix.
I knew the Purple Funfetti Cake Mix would make a beautiful Easter Cake. When I was making it I planned to decorate the outside with some PEEPS. I even went as far as buying a bunch of different colored PEEPS and other Easter candy so I could make the ultimate Easter Candy Cake. But once I decorated the cake with the purple and green Sixlets and edible Easter grass I thought it looked beautiful the way it was.

If you haven't seen the colored Funfetti Cupcake Mix you can pick up a bundle pack at Amazon that has one package of each available color of the Funfetti Cake Mix. What I love about these little packets of colored funfetti cake mix is that one package makes 12 cupcakes or a perfect 6 inch double layer cake. If you avoid baking because a regular cake mix is way too much for your family these smaller Pillsbury Funfetti packages are perfect.
You can still make a regular 8 or 9 inch double layer cake if you want. You will just need two packages in your color of choice.
As I mentioned I made a double layer 6 inch Purple Funfetti Cake here. I baked the cakes in two Wilton 6 x 3 inch cake pans. I used my homemade cream cheese frosting but you could go all out and frost this beautiful bold purple cake with the Funfetti Bold Purple Frosting. There is a colored frosting to go with each color of funfetti cake mix except for the Funfetti Radiant Red mix. In that case you would use a vanilla frosting or my homemade cream cheese frosting.
