Hi Arlene,
Was wondering is there a healthier meat to use in this recipe? My husband can't have sausage and I am trying to cook as diabetic/heart healthy friendly as I possibly can. And beans are his number one choice of protein. He also loves spicy stuff.
I was thinking chicken but not sure how this would pair with those flavors.
Can't wait to try this recipe.
Thanks!
Arlene Mobley
Kelly I think chicken sausage would be a great substitution or you could use boneless chicken in place of the sausage.

It looks like the perfect meal for a busy week night! Thanks for showing how easy it is to get dinner on the table!

I have not jumped on the Instant Pot bandwagon, but my daughter has. I will be sure to pass this along to her. Sounds like it would be something her family would enjoy. Maybe the could have me over for dinner LOL.
Arlene Mobley
Thanks, Gloria, Sound like the perfect excuse to spend some time with your daughter.

Normally we buy our beans in a can because you're right. Dried beans take more preparation and they are more time consuming. Not so with the Instant Pot! I like the idea that the beans would have more body than the canned ones. And you're seasoning would certainly transport me to Louisiana! I'll have to put the andouille sausage on my grocery list because this recipe is definitely being made as soon as I get the rest of the ingredients.
