Easy Crock Pot BBQ Chicken recipe for when you don't feel like firing up the grill. When I say easy I mean easy. This is a 2 ingredient crock pot chicken recipe that will blow your mind. The chicken is moist because it is slow cooked.

Easy Crock Pot Barbeque Chicken Recipe
Barbeque chicken is one of our favorite meals.
We enjoy bbq chicken all year long. I have an electric George Forman grill that I make some awesome boneless bbq chicken breasts on.
You wouldn't think you could get that smoky bbq flavor on an electric grill but you can.
One of these days I will share my secret ingredient for boneless chicken on the grill.
We also have a charcoal grill that we enjoy cooking on. Not sure if you noticed but chicken is my favorite meat to eat.
I have many ways I enjoy cooking it.
There are those days when I don't feel like firing up either of my grills but have a craving for bbq chicken.
Let's face it. It. Is. Hot. Outside!
The next option up is oven bbq chicken. The downfall of oven bbq chicken is that.... well you have to cook it in the oven.
The oven heats the house up!
My old clunker of an air conditioner is straining big time trying to keep the house cool as it is. The oven is not an option.
So out comes my trusty 6-quart crock pot.

How to Make Crock Pot BBQ Chicken
If your tired of dry chicken then the slow cooker is going to be the best way to cook bbq chicken. The chicken stays moist because the slow cooker traps all the moisture inside as it cooks.
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in (split) skin on chicken breasts
- ½ cup bbq sauce
- garlic salt (optional)
Directions
- Place the chicken breast in the bottom of a 6-quart crock pot in a single layer.
- Season as desired. I sprinkled garlic salt on mine.
- Place a double layer of paper towels over the top of the crock pot and place the lid on. This is to keep the condensation from dripping onto the chicken.
- Cook on high for 3 ½ hours.
- Remove the damp paper towels and brush bbq sauce over the top of the chicken breasts.
- Place a new double layer of paper towels over the top and replace the lid.
- Cook for ½-hour longer.
- Serve with your favorite sides.
BBQ Chicken Sides
- Garlic Potatoes: Steakhouse style garlic potatoes are so good with bbq chicken.
- Creamy Sour Cream Cheddar Pasta Salad: This is one of my favorite pasta salads to serve with any bbq meat.
- Best Baked Beans: These baked beans are so good. Made with canned beans, bacon, and brown sugar.

Why the paper towels?
Arlene Mobley
Martha
The paper towels prevent most of the condensation from the lid from dripping into the crock pot. In this case, it helps the chicken cook like it would in the oven instead of steaming as it would with a lot of liquid in the crock pot. This also helps keep other crock pot recipes from getting too watery.

You can also shred the chicken when it is done and have sandwiches.
