Crock Pot Chicken Stuffing

This Crock Pot Chicken Stuffing recipe is so easy and delicious. The chicken turns out moist and tender. It only takes a few minutes to load it into the slow cooker and in just a couple of hours your enjoying a delicious meal.

This chicken and stuffing slow cooker recipe is one of my favorite crock pot recipes. It reminds me of Thanksgiving dinner even though it is made with chicken breasts instead of turkey.

Slow cooker Chicken and Stuffing recipe

You could use boneless turkey breast instead of chicken breast if you can find it. For some reason I just can't find much fresh turkey meat in my area. I used to be able to buy a half turkey breast but usually all I can find is whole frozen turkeys in my area.

Another great thing about this Crock Pot Chicken Stuffing recipe is that you only need 4 main ingredients-chicken, canned cream soup, milk and the stuffing mix. The rest of the ingredients are seasonings, water and milk which everyone usually has on hand.

I love easy crock pot recipes like this!

How often do you cook in a slow cooker?

All you crock pot lovers out there I am curious as to how often you cook in your slow cooker. I use my slow cooker once or twice a week. It really makes getting dinner on the table easy for me during the busy week.

On the weekends I love to make my favorite Easy Crock Pot Pulled Pork Sandwich recipe  when I have the family over for Sunday dinner.

I'd love to hear from you so drop me a comment and tell me how often you make a crock pot recipe for dinner or lunch.

Did you read through the recipe and noticed that I reserved one cup of the dry stuffing mix? If your wondering why I did this I like to have a little crunch in the stuffing.

As you know most anything you cook in the slow cooker will get wet and soggy. I like a combination of textures in my stuffing. You know like when you bake a pan of stuffing in the oven the top ith be a little crunchy and the inside will be moist and tender?

By saving a small portion of the dry stuffing mix and sprinkling it on last I can enjoy little crunchy bits of the stuffing with my chicken.

There's not much crunch but it's enough to add a little extra texture to the recipe.

How To Make Crock Pot Chicken Stuffing

Ingredients
  • 4 skinless boneless chicken breasts (about 2 lbs)
  • (affiliate link) Lawry's Seasoned Salt
  • ground pepper
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 6 oz box (affiliate link)  chicken or turkey stuffing mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Directions
  1. Place the chicken in the bottom of a slow cooker in a single layer (affiliate link-I used the manual Crock Pot Casserole Slow Cooker)
  2. Season the chicken with the seasoned salt and ground pepper.
  3. Mix the milk with the soup and pour over chicken.
  4. Pour the stuffing mix into a bowl and remove one cup of dry stuffing mix and set aside.
  5. Mix the remaining dry stuffing mix with one cup of water and the melted butter.
  6. Spoon the moist stuffing over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining dry stuffing over the top of the moist stuffing on the chicken in the slow cooker.
  8. Cover and cook on high for 3- 4 hours or low for 6-7 hours. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the chicken. When in doubt check with a meat thermometer. Do not over cook.
  9. Makes 4 servings.

I've made this before, but baked it in the oven. This would be great for the days when I can't be around to watch it bake. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday.
