Brown Sugar Pineapple Glazed Ham
Our holiday dinner just wouldn't be special with out a Brown Sugar Pineapple Glazed Ham. We love a baked ham during the holidays.
How to prepare a holiday meal that will feed a large crowd
Since there are more than 12 of us in the family and everyone eats turkey when I have all of the family over for a holiday meal one 20+ lb turkey just isn't enough to feed all of us.
An easy way to stretch that holiday meal is to serve a Brown Sugar Pineapple Glazed Ham along side your holiday turkey.
Some of our family doesn't like ham so I don't get to enjoy one of my favorite childhood meals much during the year so while we are celebrating the special occasion during the holidays I take advantage and bake a ham.
Take Advantage of the low prices during Thanksgiving
Sometimes we get a Honey Baked Ham. Other times I take advantage of the great holiday sale prices at the grocery store. I've been know to buy an extra ham while the price is low during the week before Thanksgiving and freeze it for our Christmas dinner.
A Brown Sugar Pineapple Glazed Ham is very easy to make and you only need a couple of extra ingredients to mix up the glaze. If you want to make it extra special during the holidays you can decorate the top of the ham with pineapple slices and maraschino cherries.
If you feel a little lazy, and who doesn't when your running around crazy during the holidays you can use crushed pineapple pieces and baste the ham a few extra times during the baking.
Pay close attention to the baking time and do not over cook because there is nothing worse when your baked ham is too dry. A baked ham should be moist and tender.
Have a Happy Holiday!
