Last month I had the great pleasure of introducing you to The Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving Recipes. Which is the bible of canning recipes and has been for many many years. We are going to take a peek at a few of my favorite canning recipes from the Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving recipes.
The minute I had a copy of the Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving in my hands I started marking the canning recipes I wanted to make.
- Kosher Style Pickles
- Tomatillo Salsa
- Cherry Marmalade
I've made pickles before but they have always been refrigerator dill pickles. I'd never actually canned pickles before so first on my list of canning recipes for this year was the Kosher Style Pickles in the new Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving.
The second Ball ® Blue Book recipe I wanted to make was the Tomatillo Salsa. I have been wanting to make Tomatillo Salsa forever. I have also never canned a salsa before. I've made small pint size jars of salsa that we would eat immediately.
And the third canning recipe from the Ball Blue Book I couldn't wait to make was Cherry Marmalade.
I've made a few marmalade recipes over the years but they were always a traditional citrus marmalade. With fresh cherries in season right now I had to try the Cherry Marmalade.
Look how great the Cherry Marmalade looks in the Ball® Collection Elite® Half Pint Wide Mouth Jars. This Cherry Marmalade made in the Elite® Half Pint Wide Mouth Jars would be perfect for Christmas gifts.
