I love homemade buttermilk ranch dressing.
It is unbelievably easy to make and tastes so much better than any envelope of ranch dressing mix I have ever bought.
As I mention in the recipe description I used my homemade buttermilk ranch dressing mix to make this mashed cauliflower recipe.
If you don't want to make the homemade ranch dressing mix you can use an envelope of the store-bought stuff.
But first, take a peek into your pantry and see if you have the ingredients to make the homemade ranch mix.
It takes about 3 minutes to make. You'll have enough ranch dressing mix to make this and a few batches of homemade buttermilk ranch dressing.
I make this ranch dressing mix by the jar full and can make buttermilk ranch dressing any time I want.

How to make Crock Pot Buttermilk Ranch Mashed Cauliflower
Ingredients
- small head cauliflower, leaves and stem removed
- 1 envelope Ranch Dressing mix or 1 tablespoon homemade buttermilk ranch dressing mix
- 1 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
- ½ cup water
- 4 oz softened cream cheese
- ½ cup shredded white sharp cheddar cheese
- ⅓ cup buttermilk
Directions

- Place the first 4 ingredients into a crock pot slow cooker, cover and cook on high 4 hours or low 6-8 hours depending on how large a head of cauliflower you are using. Cauliflower should be very fork tender.
- When the cauliflower is done add the cream cheese, sharp white cheddar cheese and buttermilk to the crock pot. Using a large spoon mix the ingredients together. The cauliflower should fall apart as you mix.
- Recover and heat for 10 minutes on low until the cheeses have melted.
- Using a hand mixer beat until creamy.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Makes 4 servings when using a small head of cauliflower.

Crock Pot Buttermilk Ranch Mashed Cauliflower
Ingredients
- 1 small head cauliflower (leaves and stem removed)
- 1 envelope envelope Ranch Dressing mix (or 1 tablespoon homemade buttermilk ranch dressing mix)
- 1 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
- ½ cup water
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup shredded white sharp cheddar cheese
- ⅓ cup buttermilk
Instructions

- When the cauliflower is done add the cream cheese, sharp white cheddar cheese and butter milk to the crock pot. Using a large spoon mix the ingredients together. The cauliflower should fall apart as you mix.
- Recover and heat for 10 minutes on low until the cheeses have melted.
- Using a hand mixer beat until creamy.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
