Are you thinking about holiday desserts yet? Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away and it is time to start planning your holiday menu.
Dessert is my favorite course to plan. I love making special dessert recipes that I wouldn't normally serve any other time of the year.
I've developed this Balsamic Poached Pears with Vanilla Ice Cream recipe for Farberware Cookware to help Celebrate the Seasons of holiday cooking.
Farberware Cookware wants to help one lucky Flour On My Face reader Celebrate the Seasons with Farberware Cookware.
They have generously offered a set of the new Farberware Dishwasher Safe Nonstick 15-Piece Cookware as a giveaway prize. See below for the details.
I have fallen madly in love with balsamic vinegar. You wouldn't think that vinegar would pair well with a dessert recipe but when you mix balsamic vinegar with brown sugar and fruit magic happens.
To poach pears all you need are a few ingredients. Pears, a liquid and some spices.
When you use balsamic vinegar and brown sugar as the base for the liquid something magical happens as the balsamic vinegar, brown sugar and spices cook down.
The pears go from this rather boring pale color to this deep rich vibrant color as the pears soak up the balsamic sauce as they poach.
Serve the Balsamic Poached Pears with Vanilla Ice Cream and drizzle some of the sauce over the ice cream. It is a delightful flavor combo.
You can find the full Balsamic Poached Pears with Vanilla Ice Cream recipe exclusivly at the Farberware website.
Farberware Cookware has been my cookware of choice long before I started this food blog. Farberware Dishwasher Safe Cookware gets its superior performance from Teflon nonstick coating.
