This Blackberry Iced Tea is a refreshing summer drink made with fresh blackberries, black tea, and a touch of sweetness. Perfect for hot days, backyard gatherings, or a fruity twist on your daily iced tea routine. Easy to make and bursting with natural berry flavor!
In a saucepan bring the blackberries, water and lemon juice to a simmer.
Simmer until reduced by ½ cup, about 15-20 minutes.
Occasionally mash berries on the side of the pot with the back of spoon.
Once the mixture has reduced allow to cool slightly then stir in a the sugar until it dissolves. Simmer 2 minutes to make sure the sugar has dissolved completely.
Strain the syrup over a bowl with a fine mesh strainer and discard the solids.
Store in a bottle or mason jar in the refrigerator until use.
Pour about 3 tablespoons of blackberry syrup into each glass of iced tea.
