These Vanilla Wafer Christmas Cookies are the ultimate no-bake holiday treat! Made with just three ingredients—vanilla wafer cookies, melted chocolate, and festive sprinkles—they’re as easy to make as they are fun to eat. Perfect for holiday parties, cookie exchanges, or a simple Christmas cookie activity with the kids.
Gather your ingredients and supplies. It is important to have all the supplies ready to go once the chocolate has been melted.
Make the cookies
Chop the chocolate if needed and place in a bowl. Line the trays with parchment paper. Place the sprinkles in individual bowls.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave or a chocolate melting pot.
Once melted dip each wafer cookie ¼ to half way into the melted chocolate. Hold it above the bowl and allow the excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
Place the wafer cookie down onto the parchment lined cookie sheet and decorate with sprinkles immediately. Repeat with all the cookies.
Allow the chocolate to harden.
Store the cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
Recipe Expert Tips
Bowl: A small deep bowl works better than a shallow bowl when dipping cookies into melted chocolate.
Dipping Chocolate: These days I prefer a good quality melting chocolate over candy melts or almond bark. It is much easier to melt to a smooth consistency and has a better flavor. As long as you are careful it will not seize as easily as candy melts will if you over heat it.
Parchment paper: Parchment paper is a must have when making these cookies or any other candy treat that is dipped in melted chocolate and placed on a cookie sheet to harden. The chocolate will not stick to parchment paper like it will if you use wax paper.
