Instructions

  • Season the pork ribs with a dry rub at least 2 hours before cooking to add flavor. I prefer to season them overnight.
  • Measure the water, apple cider vinegar and liquid smoke and pour into the inner pot of the Instant Pot.
  • Place a silicone sling with handle or a metal rack down into the bottom of the pot.
  • Arrange the pork ribs on top of the sling or rack. Snap the handle together if using the silicone sling so it is out of the way of the lid.
  • Twist the pressure cooker lid on top and lock it into place. Set the valve to the sealing position.
  • Press the manual button and set the time for 15 minutes. Allow the pressure cooker to come to pressure and count down the cooking time.
  • Once the ribs have pressure cooked and the timer has gone off allow 10 minutes for the pressure to naturally release.
  • After 10 minutes of naturally releasing the pressure push the valve to the releasing position. Once the steam has released carefully twist the lid to unlock it. Lift the lid open away from your face.
  • Unlock the silicone sling handles (if using) and lift the ribs from the pressure cooker. Transfer them to a baking sheet. Use tongs to move the hot ribs from the sling to the baking sheet.
  • Brush both sides of the ribs with barbecue sauce. Preheat the broiler on your oven to 500 f. Degrees.
  • Slide the pan of ribs into the oven and brown both sides under the broiler for 5 minutes or until the ends are burnt and crispy.
  • Serve the tender pork ribs with your favorite barbecue side dishes.

Recipe Expert Tips

  • Parboiling: Instant Pot country style ribs do not need to be parboiled before cooking.
  • Adding flavor: Marinating pork ribs with a dry rub is one of the easiest and my favorite way to add flavor to pork ribs.
  • Browning: If you have an Instant Pot with the browning feature you can use it to brown the ribs. If not follow my instructions on how to brown them in the oven under the broiler.
