loosely packed lemon verbena leaves and stems

Instructions
In a small pot add the water and sugar. Bring to a boil. Boil 2-3 minutes.
Remove the pot from the hot burner. Allow to cool about 10 minutes.
Bruise the lemon verbena and add to the pot of syrup.
Stir it down so the syrup covers the lemon verbena.
Allow to steep for one hour.
Strain through cheese cloth or a fine mesh strainer. Be sure to remove all the pieces of lemon verbena.
Add a tablespoon or two to a glass of iced tea.
