Ingredients  

Dairy Free Hot Cocoa Mix

  • 3 cups 100% Cacao Cocoa Powder
  • 3 cups granulated white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt

How to make a mug

  • 1 ½ cups dairy free milk (of choice)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa mix (2 or 3 tablespoon-adjust for taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

How to mix the dairy free cocoa mix

  • Combine the cocoa powder, granulated sugar and salt in a blender.
  • Pulse on high until the cocoa powder and sugar are combined well into a powder.
  • Transfer the cocoa mix blend to an airtight container and use as needed. The cocoa mix will stay fresh for months.

How To Make a Mug Dairy Free Hot Cocoa

  • Place the 1 ½ cups dairy free milk, 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cocoa mix, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract in a saucepan. Whisk together until there are no lumps.
  • Over medium heat warm the hot cocoa until piping hot. Do not overheat and scorch the milk.
  • Pour the hot cocoa into a mug and top with mini marshmallows and a peppermint candy cane to serve.
