Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350 °F degrees and generously greasing a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with butter.

For Sausage And Gravy

  • Brown the sausage in a large skillet until fully cooked, remove from the pan and set aside, keeping the grease in the skillet.
  • Add butter to the skillet, letting it melt before whisking in the flour to form a paste. Gradually whisk in the 4 cups of milk until smooth. Add the salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and thicken the gravy before removing from heat.

Scrambled Egg & Biscuit Layer

  • Whisk together eggs, milk, ½ cup of the cheese, and the seasonings in a bowl.
  • Pour this mixture into your prepared dish, topping it with half of the sausage and the pieces of biscuit dough.
  • Finish by adding the remaining sausage, cheese, and half the gravy on top.
  • Bake until the middle is firm and the biscuits are golden, 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Serve hot with extra gravy reheated.
