Dice the apples and place them in a bowl with the one tablespoon of lemon juice. Toss the apples well with the lemon juice to prevent browning.
Add one teaspoon of the McCormick Seasonings Apple Cinnamon seasoning or 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon along with the brown sugar to the bowl of diced apples and toss well. Set aside.
In a medium bowl whisk the eggs, whipping cream, vanilla extract, and one teaspoon of McCormick Apple Cinnamon seasoning or 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Arrange half of the cubed bread in the bottom of a 9 x 11 baking pan.
Spread half the cubed apples over the top of the bread.
Sprinkle half the diced bacon over the apple pieces.
Pour half of the egg mixture over the ingredients in the baking pan and sprinkle ½ teaspoon of McCormick Apple Cinnamon seasoning or ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon over the top.
Repeat layering the remaining cubed bread, apples, bacon and egg mixture in the baking pan.
Sprinkle the remaining ½ teaspoon of McCormick Apple Cinnamon seasoning or ground cinnamon over the top of the breakfast casserole.
Set the baking pan aside for 10 minutes so the bread can absorb the egg mixture before baking.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until the custard has set. See recipe notes for more information on baking times.
Remove the breakfast casserole from the oven and allow to cool to room temperature before serving.
Recipe Expert Tips
Baking times with vary depending on the size pan you use. If using an 9 x 13 baking pan bake for 35-45 minutes and check to see if the center is set. If not return to oven for an additional 10 minutes.
I used an 8 x 11 inch baking pan and I bake this smaller pan size for 55 minutes.
