Instructions

  • Form 12 mini cheeseburgers out of the ground chuck and place them on a plate. Sprinkle with garlic salt and Everglades season (optional)
  • Cut each slider roll in half and lightly toast.
  • To stuff the burgers take a ¼ piece of a slice of cheese and place in the center of each mini burger. Fold up the ground beef up and around the piece of cheese forming a ball. Slightly flatten the stuffed burger.
  • Cook the burgers in a skillet or on the grill till cooked through. For the last couple minutes of cooking top each burger with another piece of cheese and cook until melted.

To assemble the Stuffed Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders:

  • Spread some mayo on the bottom of each roll.
  • Place a burger on the roll, add 1 piece of bacon, a piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, a squirt of Ketchup.
  • Fold the top of the bun over and secure with a toothpick.
  • Serve with a pickle wedge and chips.
  • Make 12 sliders.

Recipe Expert Tips

  • Quality Meat: Use high-quality ground beef for the best flavor. A mix of 80% lean and 20% fat is usually recommended for juicy burgers.
  • Even Sizes: Make sure all your patties are the same size for even cooking. You can use a cookie cutter or a burger press to get uniform patties.
  • Don't Overstuff: While it's tempting to load up your sliders with lots of cheese and other fillings, try not to overdo it. Too much stuffing can cause the burgers to fall apart while cooking.
  • Seal Edges Properly: To prevent the cheese from oozing out during cooking, ensure that the edges of your stuffed burgers are sealed properly.
  • Don't Press the Patties: When cooking the patties, resist the urge to press down on them with your spatula. This can cause the delicious juices (and cheese) to escape, leading to dry burgers.
  • Preheat Your Cooking Surface: Whether you're using a grill or a stovetop pan, ensure it's preheated before adding your sliders. This helps to sear the outside of the patties quickly, locking in the juices.
  • Use a Thermometer: If you're unsure whether your sliders are done, use a meat thermometer. The USDA recommends a minimum internal temperature of 160°F for ground beef.
  • Rest Your Sliders: Let your cooked sliders rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the patty, resulting in a moister burger.
  • Experiment with Flavors: Don't be afraid to get creative with your fillings and toppings. Different types of cheese, bacon, sautéed onions, or even jalapenos can add a flavor boost to your sliders.
  • Toasting the Buns: Lightly toasting the buns on the grill or pan not only adds a nice crunch but also helps prevent them from getting soggy from the burger juices.
