How to make Dried Peaches

How to make dehydrated sliced peaches in a food dehydrator. Dried fruit snacks are easy to make at home and can  help you save money while you are stocking the pantry with seasonal fruit you can eat all year long.

INGREDIENTS

Peaches Fresh Fruit Water EQUIPMENT Electric Dehydrator Mesh Dehydrator Trays Sharp Knife

Wash peaches thoroughly in cold water. Mix ½ teaspoon Fruit Fresh with one cup water in a large bowl. Cut peaches vertically in half, remove pits, then cut each half again to create four quarters.

DIRECTIONS

Peel each peach quarter using a sharp paring knife, gently pulling the skin away from the flesh. Place peeled quarters on a cutting board and slice into approximately ¼-inch-thick pieces for even drying.

Arrange peach slices in a single layer on mesh-lined dehydrator trays without overlapping. Continue filling trays until all peaches are arranged. Set dehydrator temperature to 135°F, load trays, and dehydrate for 3–8 hours.

Remove dried peaches from trays and cool completely to room temperature. Check the thickest areas for softness or moisture. If any slices feel mushy, return them to the dehydrator for another hour and recheck.
