Freezing fresh vegetables when you buy them on sale is a great way to save money. Freeze sliced bell peppers in individual serving sizes so you always have fresh peppers on hand.
Wash the bell peppers thoroughly under cool running water. Cut off the stem and scoop out seeds and membranes. This helps prepare them for slicing
and ensures they’re clean, fresh, and ready to use.
Place each pepper on a cutting board, bottom side down. Slice it in half, then quarter each half. Remove any remaining seeds or membrane to leave clean pepper pieces for easy slicing.
Lay each pepper quarter flat on the board and slice into thin, even strips along the longest edge. Continue slicing all peppers, mixing different colors together in a large bowl for even distribution.
Divide the sliced peppers into labeled freezer or vacuum-seal bags. Remove as much air as possible, then seal tightly. Flatten the bags before freezing to save space and make storage more convenient.
