How to Can Pineapple

Easy step by step detailed directions on  how to can pineapple chunks in pineapple juice. This canning recipe is an easy way for beginning or experienced canners alike to stock the  pantry with home canned fruits.

INGREDIENTS

SUPPLIES Canning Pot Canning Jars With Lids Pineapple Corer Or Knife

Wash jars, prepare the canning station, and heat water in the canner. Peel, core, and cut the pineapple into small chunks or tidbits.

PREPARE

Pack pineapple tightly into pint jars, leaving ½-inch headspace. Add boiling pineapple juice, remove air bubbles, wipe rims clean, and secure lids and bands fingertip tight.

PACK

Place filled jars into the hot water bath canner, making sure water covers jars by 1 inch. Bring to a boil and process pint jars for 15 minutes.

PROCESS

Let jars rest 5 minutes before removing, then cool  for 12 to 24 hours. Wash jars, remove bands, and store sealed pineapple in a cool, dark place.
