Prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by covering the bottom with a piece of parchment paper leaving a slight overhanging. Set aside.
In a small bowl beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the butter, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla. Beat on high for two minutes and set aside.
In a separate large bowl or the bowl beat the bananas for 1 minute. Add the butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg. Beat for 2 minutes.
Add the flour, baking soda and baking powder, mix on low until just combined.
Pour banana cake batter into the prepared baking pan.
Drop the cheesecake filling by heaping tablespoons over the banana bread batter.
Drag the tip of a knife through the cheesecake filling to marble it into the banana cake batter.
Bake in a preheated 350 F. degree oven for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the cake from the oven.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the hot cake. Allow chocolate chips to melt for about 10 minutes. Once melted spread with a spatula over the top.
Allow cake to cool completely and the chocolate to harden before cutting.
