Serve this spicy Indian Crock Pot Chai Latte on a cold day when entertaining. Chai Tea Latte is the best hot drink recipe when you are entertaining and serving a crowd. It is also a great drink to serve for a girls night.Save the leftovers and pour over ice for an Iced Chai Latte.

Ingredients  

Crock Pot Chai Latte Recipe ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 8 black tea bags ((I used Twinings Earl Grey Tea Bags))
  • ½ cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 4 large cinnamon stick (broken in half plus more for garnish)
  • 2 teaspoons whole peppercorns
  • 20 whole cloves
  • 12 green cardamom pods
  • 2- inch finger of fresh ginger
  • 3 cups warm milk (plus more for frothing)
  • Cheesecloth or tea ball

Instructions 

  • Measure the water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the tea bags and boil 1 minute, remove from heat and steep for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags from the pot and pour the tea into a 6-quart crock pot.
  • Cut about a 3 inch square of cheesecloth and place all of the spices into the center. If using a tea ball for the spices place all of the spices except the cinnamon sticks into the tea ball.
  • Add the brown sugar to the crock pot and stir to dissolve. Drop the bundle or ball of spices into the crock pot. Heat on high for two to four hours. (see tips)
  • Right before serving the Chai Latte remove the bundle or ball of chai tea spices from the crock pot.
  • Add the warm milk to the crock pot.
  • Use a ladle to fill a mug. Froth a cup of warm milk and top off each the mug. Add a whole cinnamon stick to each mug and sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top of each mug.
