Million Dollar Mac and Cheese

INGREDIENTS

Cavatappi Pasta | Milk Whipping Cream | Butter Butter | Flour Sharp Cheddar Cheese Monterey Jack Cheese Gruyere Cheese | Sour Cream Dijon Mustard | Seasoning Salt Panko Bread Crumbs

Cook the pasta. Shred the cheeses. Melt the butter in a large saucepan and add the flour. Whisk until mixture forms a thick paste. Cook until it is a light brown color and whisk in the milk and cream.

DIRECTIONS

Add the Dijon mustard, and seasonings to the mixture. Cook until thickened. Turn off the burner and whisk in the cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses until smooth. Stir the cheese sauce and cooked pasta together.

Layer the pasta and cheese sauce mixture, the gruyere cheese, and the sour cream in the prepared casserole dish, ending with a layer of gruyere cheese. Mix the Panko topping ingredients in a small bowl and sprinkle over the top.

Bake for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the cheese sauce is bubbling. Allow to rest on the counter for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
