How to dehydrate fresh mushrooms for long  term storage is an easy way to preserve mushroom so you can enjoy fresh  mushroom recipes anytime you want. Dehydrated mushrooms will last at least a year when stored properly.

WHAT YOU NEED

EQUIPMENT Food Dehydrator Mesh Tray Liners Sharp Knife | Large Bowl INGREDIENTS Fresh Mushrooms

Rinse the mushrooms thoroughly under cold running water, gently scrubbing away any dirt. Pat dry with paper towels if needed. Remove the stems and slice mushrooms into ¼–½ inch thick pieces.

DIRECTIONS

Arrange the sliced mushrooms in a single layer on dehydrator trays lined with plastic mesh. Continue slicing and filling trays until all mushrooms are prepared or you run out of space.

Stack the trays on the dehydrator base, place the lid on, and turn it on. Drying time varies by temperature and slice thickness, but generally takes about 4–4½ hours for ¼-inch slices.

Flip mushroom slices after the first hour for even drying. Remove slices as they finish, let them cool completely, and store the dried mushrooms in an airtight glass container.
