How To Dehydrate Orange Slices with a food dehydrator

Making dehydrated orange slices is very easy to do. Watch till the end for 9 fun ways you can  use them. 

You will need a food dehydrator and oranges. You can buy a very inexpensive dehydrator.  

Use thick skinned navel oranges for the best results. They are easier to slice and will hold their shape better.

Carefully use a sharp knife to slice the oranges into 1/4 inch slices. Try to make the slices the same size.

Arrange the slices on a food dehydrator tray in a single layer. Make sure the slices are  not touching or they could stick together and will tear.

Dry the orange slices as long as they need until they are no longer sticky. They should be hard  no longer pliable.

How long does it take to dry the orange slices?

It can take 5 to 12 hours to properly dehydrate oranges slices.

Once dried store the dried orange slices in an airtight container out of direct light so the bright color doesn't fade
