Yahoo! Food Peach Buckle
Have you checked out the Yahoo! Food website yet? It is your one stop shop for everything food related. From delicious recipes, top food trends, cooking tips and techniques along with everything else you might need to feel inspired in the kitchen.
I love all the videos that take you step by step through a recipe. While I was browsing the latest from the all star team of editors including Managing Editor Sarah McColl; former Bon Appetit senior web editor, Julia Bainbridge; Rachel Tepper who joined from Huffington Post Food; and Alex Van Buren, who has written for Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and Martha Stewart Living I came across this Peach Buckle recipe from Rachel Tepper. When I watched the video and saw how easy it was to make and how delicious it looked I knew I had to make it asap.
The peaches have been really good this year and I just knew the family would love this Peach Buckle recipe. I’ve made a few dessert recipes over the years but this was the first time I’ve ever made a fruit Buckle recipe. I love the way it turned out. The cake is so moist and the cinnamon, sugar and almond topping makes a perfect crunchy contrast to the sweet peaches and moist cake.
I’ve found a few other recipes that are on my recipe bucket list like this Grilled Guacamole recipe that will be center stage at our next family get together. It’s so easy to find recipes and tips that you are interested in on Yahoo! Food. On the homepage there are large photo tiles that give you a preview of each article. It’s easy to scroll through the page to find just what you are looking for. Some of these tiles are animated and add a little extra fun to the site.
Another thing I love about the Yahoo! Food site is that I can start watching a video on my tablet while I am working in the kitchen and as each video ends another one starts. I can wash the dishes, cook or clean up the kitchen without touching my tablet as each video ends. I really love this feature because I don’t have to stop what I am doing and rinse or wipe my hands to start another video.
